Knock down texture ceilings are in high demand these days. The application requires some skills and practice. Please refer to the Popcorn texture removal section of the website under interior painting to see the steps to prep the ceilings prior to doing the knock down. First think we do after ceilings are ready for the knock down texture is to cover all walls, floors and furniture before making the mud mix. The mud mix has to have a consistency similar to pancake batter. After the mix is made, we proceed to shoot it with a texture hopper gun. This is done in sections at a time because once it is applied you can not let it dry too much to be able to do the knock down. The name knock down texture comes from the flattening of the texture with a wide spatula after it is applied. We are very detailed throughout the process and our ceiling textures show it. After texture is applied, flattened and dry, we proceed to spray paint the ceilings. Have questions about knock down texture? Give us a call and we will gladly explain the process in further detail.
